international commedia dell'arte day

last night, i performed, despite large, wet snowflakes, slapping and slopping their way to the slushy streets below. around every block in manhattan, there was at least a two foot wide moat, preventing easy street crossing, making travel most unpleasant. NEVERTHELESS, the good people of our commedia show were in rare form, rehearsing new and old material for what turned out to be a really awesome show.

the performers were incredible. each one of them. i still can't get over seth and christina's kind of live punch and judy. it was AMAZING. there was a man videotaping it, so hopefully i'll find myself a copy of that soon!

next up, final sugar packet shoot, and a supporting role in another short film with my friend mitch.

but first, i left all my earthly possessions in bushwick last night, as it was my good friend evan's birthday. must recover them so i can get work done!

i'd like to think i go by a similar description.

my new friend at the lake house set, whitey kitty. he wants to be a star, and kept getting in the shots.

justin (director, in the hat), coostay (grip, in the shades), chilling outside the gas station set.

bandele (audio) in his cute, new paws.

scorpion bowl. and you thought i was kidding.

so this is my new blog, for any and all interested. hopefully i can update this, and in turn keep updated with my friends. i'd also like to keep track of my life, for reflection and nostalgia. fun fact, this is my first blog since my 10th grade xanga, so hopefully this will be considerably less lame!

right now i'm on location in connecticut, and i've been here since wednesday. i'm shooting a thesis film with my friend and director, justin van wie. it's been a really exhausting, intense and brilliant past few days, and i'm really proud of the work i'm doing. i'm especially proud of the work that everyone is doing. the small yet competent crew is super knowledgeable, and working with justin is awesome. his direction is intelligent, intuitive and kind.

today we will be working with live scorpions in the doctor's office scene.

i'll be back in new york tomorrow evening, and on thursday, i'll be participating in world commedia day with my friend brian foley, he and his wife are now the proud parents of little robyn! very exciting, and updates on that, hopefully!
